= 3(6-5y)+5y=5

= 18-15y+5y=5

= 18-10y=5

= 18-5=10y  (using the law of transposition)

= 10y=13

=y= 13/10

= y=1.3

x+5y=6

= x+5*1.3=6

= x+6.5=6

= x= 6-6.5

= x=0.5

hence the value of x is 0.5 and y is 1.3
