Answer:

x=9-5y   equation1

3x+2y=14 equation 2

now put the value of x in equation 1 we get

3(9-5y)+2y=14

27-15y+2y=14

27-13y=14

-13y=14-27

-13y=-16

y=16/13

y=1.23

now put the value of y in equation 1

x=9-5y

x=9-5*1.23

x=9-6.15

x=2.85

i hope this will help u

Answer:

x = 5 & y = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

GIVEN:

x + 5y = 9 ....(i)

3x + 2y = 14 ....(ii)

TO FIND:

Using Substitution method,

x = ?

y = ?

SOLUTION:

By eq.(i),

x + 5y = 9

x = 9 - 5y ....(iii)

Putting value of x in eq.(ii),

3x + 2y = 14

=> 3(9 - 5y) + 2y = 14

=> 27 - 15y + 2y = 14

=> -13y = 14 - 27

=> -13y = - 13

=> y = -13/-13

y = 1

Now,

Putting y = 1 in eq. (iii)

x = 9 - 5y

= 9 - 5×1

= 9 - 4

= 5

Therefore, x = 5 & y = 1
