Let us assume that 1/y = A
Hence equations will be
X + 6A = 6-----(1)
3X - 8A = 5----(2)
Multiplying equation (1) by 3
We get,
3X + 18A = 18 ---(3)
Now consider equation (2) & equation (3)
Subtract equation (2) from (3)
We get,
10A = 13
A = 13/10
Now Put A = 13/10 in equation (1)
We get,
X + 6×13/10 = 6
X + 78/10 = 6
Transposing 78/10 to right
X = 6-78/10
X = -18/10 = -1.8
Again 1/Y = A
1/y = 13/10
Taking reciprocals
Y = 10/13.
Hence equations will be
X + 6A = 6-----(1)
3X - 8A = 5----(2)
Multiplying equation (1) by 3
We get,
3X + 18A = 18 ---(3)
Now consider equation (2) & equation (3)
Subtract equation (2) from (3)
We get,
10A = 13
A = 13/10
Now Put A = 13/10 in equation (1)
We get,
X + 6×13/10 = 6
X + 78/10 = 6
Transposing 78/10 to right
X = 6-78/10
X = -18/10 = -1.8
Again 1/Y = A
1/y = 13/10
Taking reciprocals
Y = 10/13.
