x+6/y=6

  • x + 6 = 6y

3x - 8 / y = 5

  • 3x - 8 = 5y

x + 6 = 6y } × 3

3x - 8 = 5y } × 1

3x + 18 = 18y

3x - 8 = 5y

(-) (+) (-)

-----------------------------

26 = 13y

y = 26/13

  • y = 2

Putting y = 2 on 3x - 8 = 5y

we get,

3x - 8 = 5 × 2

3x - 8 = 10

3x = 18

x = 18/3

  • x = 6

Hence,

x = 6

and y = 2
