x+6y = 9 and x+2y=1. Find the value of x by subtracting both equations instead of adding and then find the values of x and y, separately.

Answer:

x+6y=9....(1)

x+2y=1......(2)

subtracting the eqn (1) from (2)

x+6y=9

x+2y=1

   4y=8

     y=8/4=2 ........putting y=2 ,in eqn (1)

 

x+6×2=9

x+12=9

x=9-12

x=  -3

    so value of x= -3 and y=2
