\huge\mathcal\red {Solution}

\frac{x}{7} - \frac{x-1}{5} = 5

\tt{By\: cross\: multiplying}

\frac{5×x - 7(x-1)}{7 × 5} = 5

\frac{5x - 7x + 7}{35} = 5

\frac{-2x + 7 }{35} = 5

 -2x + 7 = 35 × 5

 -2x + 7 = 175

 -2x = 175 - 7

 -2x = 168

 x = \frac{168}{-2}

 \boxed{x = -84}
