Two equations are given

x - 7y = -11 ------------eq1

5x + 2y = -18 ---------eq2

now, to find x and y value, we have to make coefficients of any one variable of equation 1 equal to equation 2

so, lets take x

x - 7y = -11 -------*5

5x + 2y = -18 -----*1

5x - 35y = -55 --------eq3

5x + 2y = -18 ----------eq4

now, solve eq3 and eq4

5x - 35y = -55

5x + 2y  =  -18

(-)   (-)        (+)

---------------------

0   - 37y = -37

-37y = -37

y = 1

put the value of y in eq3 or eq4

5x + 2y = -18

5x + 2(1) = -18

5x = -18 - 2

5x = -20

x = -4
