Given:–

  •  \dfrac{x + 8}{3} = 2 +  \dfrac{x - 6}{7}

To find:–

  • We have to find value of x

Solution:

Taking L.C.M. of 2 of R.H.S.

\implies\dfrac{x + 8}{3}  =  \dfrac{14 + x - 6}{7}

Solving.

\implies\text{\dfrac{x + 8}{3} }=  \text {\dfrac{8 + x}{7}}

Bringing 7 into L.H.S. and 3 into R.H.S.

\implies \text{7(x + 8)}= \text{3(8 + x)}

Now opening brackets.

\implies \text{7x+ 56} = \text{24 + 3x}

Solving.

\implies4x =  - 32

\implies x =  \dfrac{ - 32}{4}

\implies x =  \dfrac{\cancel{32}}{\cancel{4}}

\implies \boxed{x =  - 8}
