Hi ,

x/a + y/b = 2

bx + ay = 2ab ---( 1 )

ax - by = a² - b² --( 2 )

multiply equation ( 1 ) with a , and equation

( 2 ) with b , we get

abx + a² y = 2a²b --( 3 )

abx - b²y = a²b - b³ --- ( 4 )

subtract equation ( 4 ) from equation ( 3 ),

we get

( a² + b² )x = 2a²b - a²b + b³

x = ( a²b + b³ )/ ( a² + b² )

x = [ a ( a² + b² ) ]/( a² + b² )

x = a ,

Now ,

substitute x = a in equation ( 1 ) , we get

a/a + y/b = 2

1 + y/b = 2

y/b = 2 - 1

y/b = 1

y = b

Therefore ,

x = a , y = b

I hope this helps you.
