Answer

Old profit sharing ratio of X and Y = 7:5

Z acquires 112th  from X and 16th from Y

Z’s total share =    1/2+1/6 = 3/12

X’s new share =    7/12 - 1/12 = 6/12

Y’s new share =    5/12 - 1/6 = 3/12

Hence, new profit sharing ratio of X : Y : Z = 6 : 3 : 3 or 2 : 1 : 1

Old profit sharing ratio of X and Y = 2:1

Z admits = 1/4 share

X and Y decided to share Profit in equal proportion= 1:1

Let Total share be = 1

Remaining Share = 1 - 1/4 = 3/4

New profit sharing ratio= Old Ratio - Sacrifice ratio

X's Share = 3/4 x 1/2 = 3/8

Y's Share = 3/4 x 1/2 = 3/8

Z's Share = 1/4 x 2/2 = 2/8

New Ratio = 3:3:2

Sacrificing Ratio = Old Ratio - New Ratio

X's Ratio = 2/3 - 3/8 = 7/24

Y's Ratio = 1/3 - 3/8 = 1/24
