Ratio of Gold and Copper in alloy Z formed by mixing x and y of equal volumes.

Solution:

Total volume of x = $10+6$   .............(10:6)

                             =$16$

Total volume of y=$5+11$..............(5:11)

                             =$16$

volume of x= volume of y

They are mixed, so that volume of gold = $10+5$

                                                                  = $15$

                                   volume of copper =$6+11$

                                                                  =$17$

Hence the ratio of gold and copper in Z alloy is 15:17.
