Ans After 2 hrs. train A (say) would have covered distance of = 70×2 =140miles.

Now remaining distance between trains

320 - 140 = 180miles

Let the two trains meet after t hrs.

Distance (D1 )covered by first train (A) = 70t miles

Distance (D2 )covered by second train (B) = 20t miles

Clearly D1 + D2 = 180

i.e 70t + 20t = 180

90t = 180

t = 2 hrs.

The two trains will meet after 2 hrs.

Answer:

4 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance traveled by train coming from Y in 2 hours=20×2=40 miles

They will meet at a distance of 320−40=280 miles from X

Time required to cover 280 miles by train coming from X

=

70

280

=4 h

Hence they meet after 4 hours.
