The share of x in this profit is Rs 14400

Solution:

Given that,

x and y invest Rs.21000 and 17500 respectively in a business

Therefore,

Investment ratio is:

x : y = 21000 : 17500

Reduce to lowest term

x : y = 6 : 5

They make a profit of Rs.26400

What is share of x in this profit

x : y = 6 : 5

x + y =  6 + 5 = 11

\text{Share of x } = \frac{6}{11} \times 26400 \\\\\text{Share of x } = 6 \times 2400 \\\\\text{Share of x } = 14400

Thus, share of x in this profit is Rs 14400
