X can do 1/4 of a work in 10 days,y can do 40% of the work in 40 days and z can do 1/3 of the work in 13 days.who will complete the work first

X completes the work in 40 days (10*4)

Y completes the work in 100 days (100*40/40)

Z completes the work in 39 days (13*3/1)

Therefore Z will complete the work first.

Given that x can do 1/4 of work in 10 days

10 days = 1/4 of the work

1 day = 1/4 ÷ 10 = 1/40 of the work


1/40 of the work = 1 day

40/40 of the work = 1 x 40 = 40 days


Given y can do 40% of the work in 40 days

40 days = 40/100 of the work

1 day = 40/100 ÷ 40 = 1/100 of the work


1/100 of the work = 1 day

100/100 of the work = 1 x 100 = 100 days


Given that z can do 1/3 of the work in 13 days

13 days = 1/3 of the work

1 day = 1/3 ÷ 13 = 1/39 of the work


1/39 of the work = 1 day

39/39 of the work = 1 x 39 = 39 days


Answer: z will complete the work first.
