Let the total work be of 9 units ( LCM of 3 , 9 , 4.5 days)
given that X can do total work in 3 days
=> X can do a work of 3 units per day
given that Y can do total work in 9 days
=> Y can do work of 1 unit per day
also given Z can do total work in 4.5 days
=> Z can do work of 2 units per day
so when they woke together , no.of units of work they can do = ( 3 + 1 + 2 ) = 6 units
so no.of days they required to do total work together = ( total work / no.of units of work per day ) = ( 9 / 6 )
=> 1 whole 1 upon 2 days or 1.5 days
