X can do a work in 30 days and Y can do a work in 25 days. They worked together for 10 days and then X left. In how many days will Y finish the remaining work? (Find answer in decimals) *

\huge\bold{\underline{Answer:}}

GIVEN:

  • X can do a work in 30 days and Y can do a work in 25 days

  • They worked together for 10 days and then X left.

TO FIND:

In how many days will Y finish the remaining work?

SOLUTION:

Let the total work be 1

Then, According to question X takes 30 days to do 1 work.

Then, work done by X in 1 day = 1/30

Also according to question Y takes 25 days to do 1 work

Then ,work doe by Y in 1 day = 1/25

Then total work done by both of them in 1 day

\sf{\implies \dfrac{1}{30}+\dfrac{1}{25}}

\sf{\implies \dfrac{11}{150}}

Then total work done by both of them 10 days =\bf{\dfrac{110}{150}}

Total work left = \bf{1-\dfrac{110}{150}}

Total work left = \bf{\dfrac{40}{150}}

Now, this remaining work is done by B.

Let Y takes ' a ' days to complete it.

\sf{\implies \dfrac{1}{25} × a =\dfrac{40}{150}}

\sf{\implies a =\dfrac{40}{150}× 25}

\boxed{\bf{\pink{a=6\dfrac{2}{3}\:days}}}

Hence, Y will finish the remaining work in \boxed{\bf{\pink{=6\dfrac{2}{3}\:days}}}

☃️Answer:-

GIVEN:

X can do a work in 30 days and Y can do a work in 25 days

They worked together for 10 days and then X left.

TO FIND:

In how many days will Y finish the remaining work?

SOLUTION:

Let the total work be 1

Also according to question Y takes 25 days to do 1 work

Then ,work doe by Y in 1 day = 1/25

Then total work done by both of them in 1 day

: \implies \:  \frac{1}{30}  +  \frac{1}{25}  \\   :  \implies \:  \frac{11}{150}

Then  \: total  \: work  \: done  \: by  \: both  \: of  \: them  \: 10 days =\bf{\dfrac{110}{150}}

Total \:  work  \: left = \bf{1-\dfrac{110}{150}}1−

Total  \: work \:  left = \bf{\dfrac{40}{150}}

Now, this remaining work is done by B.

Let Y takes ' a ' days to complete it.

 \frac{1}{25} \times a =  \frac{40}{150}

a =  \frac{40}{125} \times 25

a = 6 \frac{2}{3} \: days
