 \large\bf\underline {To \: find:-}

  • we need to find the number of days in which X can finished the remaining work

 \huge\bf\underline{Solution:-}

 \bf\underline{\red{Given:-}}

  • X finished work in 25 days
  • Y finished work in 20 days
  • X and Y together complete work in 5 days

Let the Total work be 1

According to Question :-

  • X can finish work in 25 days

Then,

⇝ work done by X in 1 day = 1/25

  • Y Can finish work in 20 days.

Then,

⇝Work done by Y in 1 day = 1/20

  • They together work in 5 days

Then,

Work done by both X and Y in 1 day is :-

⇝ 1/25 + 1/20

⇝ ( 4 + 5 )/100

⇝ 9/100

Work done By X and Y in 5 days is :-

⇝ 9/100 × 5

⇝ 45/100

Total Work left = Total work - work done by both

⇝ Total work left = 1 - 45/100

⇝ Total work left = 100 - 45/100

⇝ Total work left = 55/100

⇝ Total work left = 11/20

  • If Y left

Then,

Number of days in which X can complete the work :-

⇝ 11/20 × 25

⇝ 11/4 × 5

⇝ 55/4 days

So,

  • If Y left Then , In 55/4 days will X finish the remaining work.

Total work LCM of 25 and 20 is 100 units.

x per day 4 units

y=5 units

x+y per day 9 units

they work together for 5 days ,

So,.

5×9=45 units as been completed

Remaining 55 units

now,

x=55/4 days
