Hello Friend,

Here,

|x| > 2

As there is a modulus, we consider two cases:

Case 1: x>0
Here , as x is already positive, |x| = x

So, |x| > 2
So, x > 2 ----(1)

Case 2: x<0

Here, x is negative . So |x| = -x

|x|>2
So, -x > 2
So, 0 > 2+x
So, x+2<0
So, x < -2 ----(2)

From (1) and (2)

x>2 or x<(-2)

[ If you know intervals, then x lies in the intervals (-∞, -2) U (2, ∞) ]

Hope it helps.
