X is aluminium and Y is chlorine

No of electrons in NEUTRAL ATOM =no of protons or atomic number
Electrons in X=13 and in Y=17

No. Of neutrons in atom =mass number-atomic number that is 35-17=18

Compound formed by Al and Cl is AlCl3 or u can say XY3
