Given: A number 'x' is to be multiplied by itself.

To find: what is the value where x is being multiplied by itself.

Solution: It is given to us that there is a number 'x' and we have to find the new value that arises when the number 'x' is multiplied by itself.

we will assume the new value that arises when the number 'x' is multiplied by itself as 'y'.

y= x × x

y=  x^{2}

(When a number is multiplied by itself we write the number raised to the power of the number of times it is being multiplied.)

Hence the value that arises is y=  x^{2} .
