X is a mixture of iron fillings and sulphur powder and Y is a product obtained by heating the mixture X. On bringing a magnet over both X and Y, what will be your observations and why?​

Y= iron sulphide, formed as a result of heating of iron and sulphur which do not have the magnetic property of iron. So there will be no result on bringing a magnet near to compound y

Mixture of iron and sulphur is a heterogeneous mixture so, when magnet is placed near to it the iron filings stick to the magnet thus the Fe & sulphur get separated
