X is four years older than Y who is twice as old as Z. If the total ages of X,Y and Z be 34. How old is X?

from the questions let consider x be age X

then age of Y =x+4...
and age of Z=(x+4)/2

and then total ages= x+4+x+x/4+1/2

. = (8x+16+2)/4. =(8x+18)/2

given that total ages =34

then .....34=(8x+18)/2
68=8x+18
x=50/8
x=6.25 years
