Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, my friend,

These type of problems have Inverse Proportion.

Hence for inverse proportion, we have a formula.

xy = K (Where k is a constant)

Men required to work and time take for them to complete are two quantities which are inversely proportional to each other.

Let's call men required which Is X as M_{1}

Let's call No. of days which is 30 as T_{1}

Let's call No. of days which is 10 days less = 30 - 10 = 20 days as T_{2}

Let's call No. of men required which is X + 6 as M_{2}

So Now M_{1} T_{1} = M_{2} T_{2}

By equating you get,

=>(X)(30) = (X + 6)(20)

=> 30X = 20X + 120

=> 30X - 20X = 120

=> 10X = 120

=> X = 12

Hence, there were 12 men at the beginning.
