x-y+4=0.......i

3x+y+4 =0.......ii

multiply (i) by -1

-x+y-4 = 0

from (i) and (ii)

-x+y-4 = 0

3x+y+4 = 0

-4x -8 = 0

-4x = 8

x = -2

putting x = -2 in (i)

-2-y+4=0

-y = -4+2

y = 2
