x=p, y=q is a solution of the equations x + 2y + 1 = 0 and 2x – 3y- 12 = 0 then find the values
of p and q.​

Answer:

x=p,y=q

x+2y+1=0...      1

2x-3y-12=0...2

In 1,

x+2y+1=0

x= -2y-1 .              ..3

Using 3 in 2

2[-2y-1]-3y-12=0

-4y-2-3y=12

-7y=14

y= -2

x=-2y-1

x=4-1

x=3

p=3 and q= -2
