Let us prove this statement with the help of an equation with the variable as x .

= 2x + 3 = 15

2x = 15 - 3 ( Transposing +3 from LHS to RHS changes +3 to -3 )

2x = 12

x = 12 ÷ 2 ( Transposing ×2 from LHS to RHS changes ×2 to ÷2 )

x = 6

As you can see her the number in the LHS which is x is equal to the number in the RHS that is 6 , which means that when substituted the LHS and RHS of an equation are equal .
