Simplify both sides of the equation.

x−(2x+2)=−2(x−3)

x+−1(2x+2)=−2(x−3)(Distribute the Negative Sign)

x+−1(2x)+(−1)(2)=−2(x−3)

x+−2x+−2=−2(x−3)

x+−2x+−2=(−2)(x)+(−2)(−3)(Distribute)

x+−2x+−2=−2x+6

(x+−2x)+(−2)=−2x+6(Combine Like Terms)

−x+−2=−2x+6

−x−2=−2x+6

Add 2x to both sides.

−x−2+2x=−2x+6+2x

x−2=6

Add 2 to both sides.

x−2+2=6+2

x=8
