Answer :

x² + 3x + 8 = 0

On comparing it with the standard form of quadratic equation ax² + bx + c = 0, we get -

a = 1, b = 3, c = 8

Discriminant = b² - 4ac

⇒ D = (3)² - 4 * 1 * 8

⇒ D = 9 - 32

⇒ D = -23

∴ D < 0
