Hi ,

Let p(x ) = x² -3x -p(p+3)

To find roots take

p( x ) = 0

x² - 3x - p( p+3 ) = 0

x² + px - ( p + 3 )x - p(p+ 3 ) = 0

x ( x + p ) - ( p+ 3 )[ x + p ] = 0

( x + p ) [ x - ( p + 3 ) ] = 0

Therefore ,

x + p = 0 or x - (p+ 3 ) = 0

x = - p or x = p+3

Roots of p( x ) are

-p or p+3

I hope this helps you.
