Answer:

let the thing in terms of m and n which is to be find

Step-by-step explanation:

let the speed of X be m km/hr

speed of Y be n km/hr

there fore time taken by both:

X= 30/m hr

Y,= 30/n hr

now,,

30/m +3 = 30/n

30/n - 30/m=3

can u please solve after this? say in comment.

Let the speed of 'x' be x km | hr

Let the speed of 'y' be y km | hr

Time =Distance ÷ speed

According to Question

30/x = 30/y +3

30/x - 30/y = 3_______ (1)

30/2x = 30/y - 3/2

-30/2x + 30/y = 3/2______(2)

Let 1/x = u and 1/y = v

30u - 30v = 3

Let the 3 common in this equation

10u - 10v = 1_______(3)

-30u/2 + 30v = 3/2

- 15u + 30v = 3/2

- 30u + 60v = 3

Let the 3 common in this equation

-10u + 30v = 1_______(4)

from equation (4) and (3)

10u - 10v =1

-10u +20v =1

__________

10v = 2

v = 2/10

v = 1/5

Y = 5 (Ans)

put the value of v in any equation

10u - 10v = 1

10u - 10(1/5) = 1

10u - 10× 1/5 = 1

10u - 2 = 1

10u = 3

u = 3/10

or u = 3.33

x = 3.33 (Ans)

Speed of walking 'x' be 10/3 km/hr

or 3.33 km/hr

Speed of walking 'y' be 5 km/hr
