{\underline{\underline{\huge{\red{\bold{Solution :-}}}}}}

Completing the square solution :-

 {x }^{2} - 1 = 0

Step 1 - Add 1 to both sides

 {x }^{2} - 1 + 1 = 0 + 1

 {x }^{2} = 1

Step 2 - Take square root

 {x } <u>+</u> √1

 {x } = 1 or {x } = -1

Answer :-  {x } = 1 or {x } = -1

Factoring solution :-

 {x }^{2} - 1 = 0

Step 1 - Factor left side of equation

 ({x } + 1) ({x } - 1)

Step 2 - Let factors equal to 0

 {x } + 1 = 0 or {x } - 1 = 0

 {x } = -1 or {x } = 1
