Step-by-step explanation:

∵x/2x-2 = x+5/2x+6

∴x(2x+6) = (x+5)(2x-2)

∴2x²+6x = x(2x-2)+5(2x-2)

∴2x²+6x = 2x²-2x+10x-10

∴2x²-2x²+6x+2x-10x=-10

∴-2x=-10

∴x=-10/-2

∴x=5
