x/2-y/9=6 (2)

multiplying both sides by 7 w'll get

X = 35-7y/3

taking L.C.M we get

X= (105-7y)/3

putting this value in place of x in eqtn 2

(105-7y)/6-y/9 = 6

again taking L.C.M

(315-21y-2y)/18=6

multiply both sides by 18

315-21y-2y=108

add like terms

315-23y=108

or

-23y=108-315

-23y=-207

divide both sides by -23

y=9 (put this value in eqtn 2)

x/2-9/9=6

x/2-1=6

x/2=6+1

x/2=7

x=7*2

x=14
