x - y = 0.9 .............(i)

11/x+y = 2

11 = 2(x + y)

x+y = 11/2

x + y = 5.5 ...........(ii)

adding eq. (i) and (ii)

x - y = 0.9

x + y = 5.5

(y will cancel out)

2x = 6.4

x = 3.2

x - y = 0.9

3.2 - y = 0.9

3.2 - 0.9 = y

y = 2.3
