by solving the equations we get the points (0,0) (2,-2) (2,2). by using the area formula of a triangle(since we have 3 points) we can find the are.
area formula of triangle = 1/2{(x1y2 +x2y3 + x2y1) - (x2y1 + x3y2+x1y3)}
so we get the area as 4 sq. units.you can plot this on graph.hope it helps.mark this as the best answer..

The triangle is formed by (0,0), (2,2) and (2,-2)

Area = 1/2 | 0(2+2) + 2(-2-0) + 2(0-2)|

         = 1/2 | 0 -4 -4|

         = 1/2 × 8

        = 4 sq units
