20x + 2y -10y - x = 1

19x -8y = 1......(ii)

multi eqn (i) by 8 ,

8x + 8y = 80.....(iii)

adding (ii) & (iii)

27x = 81

"x = 3"

putting x= 3 in (iii)

24 + 8y =80

8y = 80 - 24

8y = 56

"y=7"
