x+y=10

=>x=10-y

putting the value we get,

y=(10-y)+4

=>2y=14

=>y=7

putting the value of y we get ,x

x=10-7

x=3

so x=3 and y=7

 =  > x + y = 10 \\   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  - x + y = 4

APPLYING ELEMINATION

 =  > 2y = 14

 =  > y = 7

PUTTING THE VALUE OF X

 =  >   - x + 7 = 4

 =  >  - x =  - 3

 =  > x = 3
