x + y = 12

x*y = 32

on solving

x = 8 , y = 4

= x^2 + y ^2

= 8^2 + 4^2

= 64 + 16

= 80

Hope it helped you.....

\huge\mathfrak{Heya}

 \mathsf{Given \ :-}

 \mathsf{x + y \ = \ 12}

\mathsf{And}

\mathsf{xy \ = \ 32}

\mathsf{To \ find \ :-}

 \mathsf{x^2 + y^2 \ = \ ? }

 \mathsf{Solution \ :-}

 \mathsf{Using \ formula}

 \mathsf{(x + y) ^2 \ = \ x^2 + y^2 + 2xy}

\mathsf{Putting \ values.}

 \mathsf{We \ get,}

\mathsf{(12)^2 \ = \ x^2 + y^2 + 2×32}

\mathsf{x^2 + y^2 \ = \ 144 - 64}

\mathsf{x^2 + y^2 \ = \ 80}

\huge\mathbb{Hope \ this \ helps.}
