Step-by-step explanation:

x + y = 5 ( equation 1 )

2x - 3y = 4 ( equation 2 )

Now,

multiplying (eq.1) by 2 and subtracting (eq.2) from ( eq.1 )

(2x + 2y = 10) - (2x - 3y = 4 )

=> 2x + 2y - 2x + 3y = 6

=> 5y = 6

=> y = 6/5

Putting the value of y in ( eq.1 )

=> x+ y = 5

=> x + 6/5 = 5

=> x = 5 - 6/5

=> x = 19/5

Hope it helped you.

Hey Mate..!!

Here's Your Answer..!!

x+y=12000.....(1) × 2
2x+3y=288......(2)

2x+2y=24000
2x+3y=288

On subtraction-
y= 23712

Put y's value in equation (1)-
x+23712=12000
x=12000-23712
x= -11712

Value of y is 23712 and of x is -11712.

Hope This Helps..!!
