x+y= 14......(1)

x-y= 4.........(2)

From (1),

x+y= 14

=) x= 14-y........(3)

So, putting the value of x in equation (2), we get,

14-y-y= 4

=) 14-2y= 4

=) -2y= 4-14

=) -2y= -10

=)y= 10/2 [minus cancel]

=) y= 5

Putting the value of y in equation (3), we get

=) x= 14-5

=) x= 9

Hope it helps ☺️
