Answer:

x+y=14 equation (i)

x-y=4 equation (ii)

in equation (i)

x+y=4

x=14-y equation (iii)

put equation (iii) in equation(ii)

x-y= 4

14-y-y=4

-2y=4-14

-2y= -10

y= 5

put the value of y in equation (iii)

x=14-y

x=14-5

x=9

Now we get x=9 and y=5

ok Thank you

Answer:

Solve using substitution method x+y=14 x-y=4

Step-by-step explanation: Given :- x + y = 14 and x - y = 4. Solution :- ⇒ x + y = 14 ... ( i) ⇒ x - y = 4 ... ( ii) From equation (i), we get. ⇒ x = 14 - y ... ( iii) Putting this value in equation (ii), we get. ⇒ (14 - y) - y = 4. ...

⇒ y = 5 ... ( iv) Putting this in equation (iii), we get.

⇒ x = 9.

Hence, x = 9 and y = 5.
