Given x-y=15 and rootx-rooty=1 then x=? Sol- rootx-rooty=1 square on both sides then x+y-2rootxy=1 then x+y=1+2rootxy now add equation 1 and 2 x-y=15 and x+y=1+2rootxy then we get 2x=16+2rootxy then x=8+rootxy
