x-y=12
find the value of x and y​

x+y =18 ......(i)

x-y=12 ......(ii)

Taking eq. (i) :

x+y=18

x=18-y ...... (iii)

Now, putting (x=18-y) in eq. (ii)

since, x-y=12

therefore, 18-y -y =12

18 -2y=12

-2y=12-18

-2y=-6

y=-6/-2

y=3

now putting y=3 in eq. (iii)

since, x=18 -y

therefore, x=18 - 3

x=15

therefore, (x=15,y=3)
