Given :

x + y = 1900 \:  \:  -  -  - (1)

and

 \dfrac{x}{60}  +  \dfrac{y}{700 }  = 5

LCM of 60 and 700 is 2100

 \implies

 \dfrac{x \times 35}{60 \times 35}  +  \dfrac{y \times 3}{700 \times 3}  = 5

 \dfrac{(35x + 3y)}{2100}  = 5

35x + 3y = 5 \times 2100

35x + 3y = 10500

From eq(1)

  • Y = 1900 - X

 \implies

35x + 3(1900 - x) = 10500

35x - 3x + 5700 = 10500

32x = 4800

x =  \dfrac{4800}{32}

x = 150.

Therefore, the value of X is 150.

  • Now replace the value of X in eq(1)

150 + y = 1900

y = 1900 - 150

y = 1750

Therefore, the value of y is 1750.

X = 150

Y = 1750
