x+y/2=4

or, x+y = 8 ........(i)

x/3 + 2y= 5

or, x+6y = 15.......(ii)

Doing (i)-(ii)

-5y= -7

or, y= 7/5

x= 8-7/5 = 33/5

x+y=8 this is a first equation and second equation is x+6y=15 by subtracting we solving this -5y=-7,y=7/5 and x+y=8 put the value of y in this equation x+7/5=8,5x+7=40,5x=33,x=33/5. the answer is x=33/5 and y=7/5
