Hey Mate!!

x - y = 2 And xy = 2 Find x² - y²

_______________________________

x² - y² = ( x + y ) × ( x - y ) = 2 × ( x + y )

=>

x - y = 2

SQUARING BOTH SIDE'S

( x - y )² = 2²

=>

x² + y² -2xy = 4

=>

x² + y² = 4 + 2 ( 2 )

=>

x² + y² = 8

=>

x² + y² = ( x + y )² - 2xy

=>

x + y = √ ( 8 + 4 )

=>

x + y = √ ( 12 )

=>

x + y = 2√3

So, x² - y² = 2 × ( 2 √3 ) = 4√3
