2x+2y=4. _______(2)

2x + 4y=14 ________(3)

subtract eqn (2) and (3)

2x+2y=4

-

2x+4y=14

_____________

0+ -2y=18

y= -9

put the value of y eqn( 2)

2x+2y=4

2x+2(-9)=4
