x+y =20.........(i)

x-y=|2 .............(ii).

adding equation (i) and (ii)

we get

2x= 32

x=|6

now putting the value of x in equation (I) we get

x+y=20

|6 +y= 20

y = 20- |6

y = 4

so

x×y= |6 ×4 = 64
