x + y = 25

50x + 100y = 2000

in substitution method , firstly we find the value of either x or y in second equation and put in first equation

therefore , 50x = 2000 - 100y

                  x = 2000 - 100y/5

putting the value of x in  first equation , we get

2000 - 100y/5 + y =25

2000 - 100y +5y = 25*5

2000 - 95 y =125

-95y = 125-2000

-95y = -1875

minus is cancelled by minus , therefore

y = 1875/95

y = 375/19

x + y =25

x = 25 - 375/19

x = 100/19

if there is any mistake , then sorry , i don`t know more about linear equation in two variables , i have just promoted to 9 standard

x = 10

y = 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

x + y = 25 ---(1)

50x + 100y = 2000 ---(2)

To Find:

The value of x and y

You Should know:

As you asked "how can we solve it by using substitution method".

1st You have to know Substitution Method,

Substitution method is just like it's name 1st solve any easy equation and take y alone or x alone.

2nd Plug in the value of x or y in unsolved equation. 3rd Simplify till answer and vice versa.

Solution:

Solving (1)

x + y = 25

or, x = 25 - y

Now, Plugin the value of x in equn. (2)

50x + 100y = 200

or,50(x + 2y) = 2000

or, x + 2y = 40

or, 25 - y + 2y = 40

or, y = 40 - 25

or, y = 15

So, x = 25 - y

= 25 - 15

= 10

Therefore, The required value of x = 10 and y = 15
