ANSWER:

  • Value of x is (-1) and 2.

GIVEN:

  • x-y = -3
  • 3x+y = -1

TO FIND:

  • Value of x and y.

SOLUTION:

=> x-y = -3 ......(i)

=> 3x+y = -1 ......(ii)

Adding eq (i) and (ii)

=> 3x+x = -3-1

=> 4x = -4

=> x = -4/4

=> x = -1

Putting x = -1 in eq (i)

=> -1-y = -3

=> -1+3 = y

=> y = 2

Value of x is (-1) and 2.

NOTE:

  • In this way we can find the value of x and y.
